Fanfare ''Warmly Recommends'' Us
The March/April 2007 issue of Fanfare had this to say about our Rindfleisch disc: "The performances by the Madison-based Isthmus Vocal Ensemble are exemplary."

Our Big Apple Premiere (kinda)
IVE's recording of Andrew Rindfleisch's choral music was featured in the play Uncle by Dean Gray, which premiered at New York's Arclight Theatre in February 2007. See the theater review (and the mention of the music at the bottom).

Public Radio Picks
Isthmus Vocal Ensemble has been featured on both Wisconsin Public Radio (as CD of the month) and WCLV in Cleveland (as CD of the day).

It started as a strange thought: Why not bring Madison's best choral singers together with a gifted conductor for two intensive weeks, and harness that collective creative energy for a single performance?

Do the math: The reputation of the conductor would draw the best and the brightest. The compressed commitment would allow even the busiest performer to lend a voice. And the combined intensity of rehearsal schedule, skill level, and artistic direction would contribute to a single, passionate, glorious burst of choral music. Then we could all go home and sleep.

Somehow, the idea struck a chord. The result is the Isthmus Vocal Ensemble, a professional-grade choral group whose existence is as transitory as the musical moment itself.

Our first five concerts in our first five years have been building in audience, in excellence, and in reach (you can hear parts of those performances on-line). Be sure to join us on August 1, 2008 for another unforgettable choral event.
