In 2003, the Isthmus Vocal Ensembled commissioned a new choral work from noted composer Andrew Rindfleisch. The composer was so impressed with that performance, he commissioned the group to record the bulk of his choral works for a new commercial release, Andrew Rindfleisch Choral Works, now available from Clarion Records (released in July 2006).
Rindfleisch’s choral compositions date back to 1986 while he attended UW-Madison as a music composition student. His composition “Me! Come! My Dazzled Face!,” written for four-part chorus of women’s voices, was composed specifically for IVE and the CD project.
The recording and production were made possible through a grant from the Joseph and Florence Mandel Family Foundation, and through the energy and efforts of a full range of individuals and organizations committed to its completion.
The Isthmus Vocal Ensemble is pleased and proud to introduce Mr. Rindfleisch's glorious choral compositions to a larger world. And we thank all or our choir members, friends, and partners for their hard work in making it possible.
